Leaking out in the past few hours: Hiltons new tier requiring $18,000 spend per annum and 80 nights. Somewhat similar to Marriott’s Ambassador level.
Around 2017 we posted that Hilton gave notice of their new Diamond + tier that never materialized, read more on that HERE
Judging from the status codes leaked it looks like Hilton is proceeding with this new tier shortly “tier code P” and the colour goes to Black which coincidentally Diamond had around the same time pre covid.

So this might not be the lowest Umrah we ever scored over the years due to time variations and paying ‘full price fare’ where previously we have flown in for R880 ( yes 8 hundred).
This Off-Peak trip, the breakdown for what we spent can be found on this post HERE.
By far this might be one of the most blessed Umrah trips due to maximising the absent crowds that got less and less each day, the front lines especially ability to reach Hajr Aswad 14x in 8 days.
The likes of these are covered in our FREE DIY Umrah Guide from some years back and remain in effect till today.
Flying in:
We used Etihad basic, the sale for these April dates we needed came around the previous December. Approximately R7100 per adult and R6500 per child. (Business outbound on its own was R11,600)
We scored the Space seats, a somewhat premium economy as Gold Etihad Guests, these are the best economy seats in any airline. The tricks with Etihad are many and require some playing around with such as utilising the stopover for 2days, sometimes we have stopped going and coming and playing with fares on the swop country of booking for forex rates. Sometimes we have used Open Jaw options into Cai and take the cheapest 1way flight into Jed on SV or Flynas or Flyadeal. However for this trip the lowest was Jnb-Jed return with a stopover on return in Auh.
Accommodation:
We had to change and split this multiple times due to Haj visa regulations and maximise the Haramain on the quietest times of the year. The end result was Sheraton for 9days 8 nights on discounted cash rates (2500 sar for the period) this basically gave us All Inclusive, a “private executive lounge” and a upgrade to a 3 bedroom Suite worth R12000 per night As top tier members and then onwards Intercontinental for 4days 3 nights, I had to buy points to top up my balance to the tune of R2500, here again we were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite as Diamond members, the same suite we scored in January Umrah of 2024 ( here we paid R1300 per night peak booking almost a year in advance)
Transfers:
Jed to Makkah cost R960 in a GMC, negotiated direct at arrivals.
Makkah to Madinah took the train on 50% discount with 2 taxis total came to R3400, it would have been cheaper to just take a Staria door to door for R2200 however time and days were the issue.
The transfer from Hotel in Madinah to Jed was R 2200 in a Staria for departure.
For a full dedicated storyline on this Umrah please click HERE.
Onwards:
With Etihad bookings we were given 3x rooms Free in Abu Dhabi worth R10000 for 2 nights. Highlight reel HERE
In Auh we opted to forfeit the last night and do a beach resort with wavepool, lazy river etc.
Earnings:
Due to the low cost of the Off Peak accom we only amassed a total of 20000 points with bonuses and for the airline we credited to SAS to offset a larger earn to the tune of 4900 miles per guest as Etihad gave peanuts approx 600miles for basic tickets. travel #theSMARTERway
Note:
Scoring Umrah has been our forte since pre 2013 when one could book Ramadhaan rooms for 24000 points a night (its now 150000 points per night) depending your pref.
Traveling #theTLway with maximising scoring can and has been used the world over from Hong Kong to Europe to Usa to Hawaii and every country in-between.
Email info@traveloyalty.co.za to get our concierge offers where we work 1 on 1 with each individuals needs from wanting to experience showering in the sky to theme parks to overwater villas in Maldives on repeat.
Scoring free prime accommodation or highly discounting the accommodation is nothing new here at traveloyalty.com, infact we have published all the ways each year since the website began almost a decade back.
Here is one of the older published articles when Hilton in Makkah could have been booked for just 30,000 points (or 24,000 points on 5th night free) per night even during the last 10nights.
Link: http://traveloyalty.co.za/how-to-lower-umra-costs-with-hilton-hilton-double-points-promo-extended/ Most readers flock to Hilton to book discounted or free Umrah stays however as with Hilton’s popularity over the years they have been loading the standard room availability very very late. This year was no exception, loading standard room redemption’s – from 70,000 points – only on the 23rd of February 2023. Last year 2022 Ramadhaan the same availability was only loaded end of February for end of March start.Marriott on the other hand has been loading standard room availability from the word go – from approx 40-50,000 points per free night.
So as per yearly usual here are the mathematics breakdown on staying 5x nights cash vs 5 nights points (redemption’s get every 5th night FREE):
Staying Cash for 5x nights
Conrad Makkah – sleeps 4 adults
Almost 20,000 Riyals for 5x nights = Zar 98,500
vs Staying on points for 5x nights:
A free 5x nights stay at Conrad Makkah will set you back 320,000 Hilton Honors points
Buying the points:
If you have not earned the points free from preferably using a Diamond status membership that yields plenty in bonuses you can buy the points:
Some targeted accounts ( esp those who have bought in previous years can buy 160k and get 160k free for $1600 )
So in essence buying the points costs $1600 or ZAR 29,650 vs paying cash rate of Zar 98,500 yielding a saving of R68,850 per 5x nights
Marriott Jabal Omar – Staying cash
thats 10,565 Riyals for 5 nights or ZAR 51,874
vs staying on points
A free 5x nights stay at Marriott Jabal Omar will set you back 234,000 Bonvoy points
Buying the points:
Buying the full Bonvoy points ( may need 2x acc )will cost you $2089 or ZAR 38,715 and in turn saving you ZAR 13,159
points to note:
Buy points on a sale only, Hilton regularly offers 100% bonuses and Marriott 40-50% bonuses.
Accounts are limited to buy a certain quantity of points per annum.
With elite level status 5th nights are free, and so are breakfasts and lounge access where available. This will save you many hours standing in food que’s.
When you use points you DON’T pay taxes.
Maximising Ramadhaan rarely works over night, we work with our clients 1 on 1, sometimes from July the year before to attain the goals and max all the points promos and sales that comes up.
Accounts need to open for a set duration in order to buy points.
You can buy, gift, transfer and even pool points from other accounts into yours for no fee. Do note: they can be instant, they can also take 1-2days and in some cases up to 10days.

Tens of millions of Rands have been saved for this June alone at one hotel by TraveLoyalty Elite Subscribers. Everyone has scored R93,000 off per 5 night stay at the new Conrad. Wish they had more rooms to fill.
Coming soon, a upgraded trip to another dragons den suite that spans 360 square meters. One of the best upgrades. Stay tuned.

True story, book fast to avoid disappointment. Investment travel is growing at an alarming scale that even the biggest hotels in the world are being sold out in reward inventory + TraveLoyalty subscribers getting massive savings on points and on cash bookings local and abroad.
More subscribers saving and scoring + my Presidential Suite upgrade last week in Mauritius, if you missed my video snippets of this double story 300sq meter plus pad its on Instagram and Facebook.
1) Free elite status with LHW.
Leading Hotels of the World member Biltmore is offering status worth $150 for free. I haven’t used a LHW member hotel in about 3 years. Sign up as soon as you can and the confirmation should come through in a few days.
Last I stayed with them it was at Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town at The Waterfront ( really nice and dual mountain and sea views to die for) and heaps of stays at The Palace of the Lost City when R1 specials were abundant. The perks for this are HERE.
Whether it being servicing your car, booking a holiday, exchanging forex or simply buying groceries, every ounce of saving adds to a extra night or flight on a adventure ahead.
In recent years this has troubled me a lot, and for once as a blogger I should pencil down some issue thoughts on this canvas. Personally if I shop 100x items then its 100x item prices I commit to memory and on checkout at the till I make sure I pack out before cashiers scan, this way the barcode prices hitting the display has my full attention whereas most people bend and pack with no attention to prices being charged. In my experience 6 to 7 out of 10x there is ALWAYS a OVERCHARGE. I’ve kept some of the slips recently ( wish I kept all for this year) and if I recall the amount of money I’ve saved from not being ripped off it could equate to a good few nights in a five star ( definitely Pointbreaks).
Yo cashier please get your runner to verify the incorrect price and get your manager to correct thanks.
Saving money and lack of wastage is something Im highly passionate about and if you are an individual who is fairly allergic to paying high prices and in process being ripped off you will understand where Im coming from. All it requires is a little bit of homework in any avenue of life, no need for expensive schoolfees.
Another love Im passionate about is surfing, as a surfer for about 24years now I was so shocked to see the prices of surf accessories, fins in particular, so much so I’ve been hard at work the last few months developing my own surf accessories brand ( killer brand name + logo will be released soon).
Currently what is being sold for $180 I’m pushing to get out in the market for $25 with no compromise on quality nor performance. ( Aint this a result of what a TraveLoyalty mindset builds? ).
In the warehouse with the prototypes.
Carbon fibre quality.
Test driving on these prototypes in different waves the world over has begun.
3) Marriott Megabonus promo update.
Inbetween back to back trips abroad I managed to squeeze in a 2 night stay at Protea Sandton Balalaika and Protea Montrose ( also managed to get a pretty neat Audi sedan as a Avis First member upgrade with unlimited mileage – much needed for this road trip). The ongoing Protea promo and Megabonus stacks well together with all the bonus points and somewhat elite perks at the older establishments.
Earned my free night certificate which no doubt ill try and use at a Ritz- Carlton or JW Marriott soon or if the SPG merger completes later this year, the Sheraton Fullmoon Maldives would be excellent to burn it.

Accommodation:
Conrad is still the cream of the crop with the best savings in Makkah.
If you not getting this 5x nights free and buying points for R11,400 ( $800) you still saving R91,600 per 5x nights.
IHG InterContinental’s seem to offer the best savings for peak month end dates, you can buy points on DailyGetaways ( see below or use the our search bar on the website). Cash vs points is R10,500 vs R2,100 per night. If you can get the cash rates at Crowne Plaza for under 500 SAR this will be best. Please check both app and online I’ve gotten different specials and availability on both.
2) HHonors promo 2x points May 1st – August 31st, 2016.

IHG (Intercontinental Hotels Group), the worlds largest hotel and loyalty programme has released a full hotel list for booking.
If you are un-familiar on how to stay for free at top end Intercontinental and Crowne Plaza Hotels kindly read on:
What is Pointbreaks ?
Pointbreaks is the hotel industry’s most economical ( un-matched and un-rivalled) promotion as 140 hotels ( out of 4900 +) are available for the redemption of a mere 5000 points.
How do you earn IHG points ?
You can earn points from stays at hotels or taking up their super lucrative challenges every quarter ( earn minimum 32,000 points by merely spending ZAR 4000 ) 32k in points can be worth a potential ZAR 35,000 if redeemed at expensive Intercontinental brands on Pointbreaks – if and when IHG decides to load any these days..
If you don’t have points, Traveloyalty can show you how to manufacture points using this method HERE at a rate of $35 per 5000. ( That’s half the rate the website sells them at ). It can now be done at $30 per 5000.
You can also buy points on sale offers during the year and earn up to 100% bonus on purchases and end up “paying’ $28 per room ( currently available on Dailygetaways – search this on the search bar on website if you not familiar or Access the offer HERE.).

At best, 32-40 complimentary nights as Hilton Category 1 hotels go for 5000 points for a night.
Egypt is a hub of the most Category 1 Hilton’s. Every major city here has at least 1 or 2 category 1 hotels . Browse my Egypt tour under latest tips link and check the hilton.com website.
Using Elite status you get every 5th night free so effectively it ends up being 4000 points per night ( $23). This is where 30 + nights are achievable.
As a HHonors Diamond or Gold Elite you will also get complimentary breakfasts and room upgrades, this perks will save you heaps of money on top of your current savings and you could end up in a suite worth more than:
Hilton Category 2 goes for 10,000 Hhonors points per night or getting 5th night free = 8000 points per night. Here you can get 14-16 complimentary nights.
When rates ( and points) are high, especially during peak times or at expensive destinations look at the points + cash rates to save.
Umra.

It gets better!
You can get a family room for 4 adults for the same 30,000 points per night. ( note this cash rate is way higher per night per night and if you don’t have Hilton Hhonors Diamond or Gold you still have to extra pay per person rates and pay for breakfasts).
2) Hyatt – Stay 3 pay for 2 offer Visa offer in Asia.

Amazing upgrade just sent in, have a look at the value on Hiltons website ( per night). Elite status is the way to travel and earn bonus points upon bonus points making it an investment for future free travel. What other travel method gets you this?
1) Hilton HHonors Elite to 2018. Limited Offer:
Brand new offer from Hilton now carries elite validity for Gold and Diamond status into 2018. Email me for more info.
2) Hilton Presidential to sleep on every night. Limited Offer:
I have 20 x UPDATE: 13 x left available – King size mattresses on offer with the base that has just been brought in to Durban Port in South Africa. Limit: 1x per customer, first 4 confirmed orders gets a free mattress cover worth R3,000.
The normal standard Hilton King bed retails for $1995,00 on hiltontohome access it HERE. (Their website states shipping in USA is $225 and Canada is $325, International shipping is much higher).
Hilton Presidential Perfect Sleeper by Serta. This King size mattress is made exclusively for the Presidential and the Royal Suites in Hilton and likely to be found only at top Waldorf Astoria brands ( if you a HHonors Diamond member and have been getting upgrades to these suites you’d know the type of sleep and perfect wake up I’m talking of).
Hotel Mattresses are highest of quality and very durable, they can withstand years of use and abuse by hotel guests. Parents don’t let kids jump on their mattress at home for good reason, this rule doesn’t apply to hotel mattresses.
Mail me urgently if you would like more info on securing one or viewing ( regret no test driving) if you reside in Durban / KZN area.
3) IHG Daily Getaways offer still available.
100,000 points can get you 20x nights on Pointbreaks ( type this in TraveLoyalty’s search bar on website if you unfamiliar) or get you 2x nights at some of the most expensive Intercontinental brands. You can buy up to 3x packages per offer and up to 16x packages per IHG account.
Do the maths and check if cash vs points on your upcoming stays will be cost effective.
Note: IHG points are valid for one year pending no account activity for the full 12month period. There are loopholes like booking and cancelling or buying 1000 minimum points next year to extend the shelf life to the next so it really is no brainer to avoid sustaining a loss even if you waiting for a top rated hotel to feature on Pointbreaks or needing 25,000 per night for Crowne Plaza Medinah when rates are super high for the upcoming peak.

Simply the most awesome sale of buying hotel points that comes along only once a year. I invested in heaps of specials is the last few years. Don’t miss out.
Stocks are limited. Some are so limited, jetsetters sit at their laptops and ipads clicking refresh continuously waiting for the sale to go live at the time stipulated and then in a matter of 15 seconds it will be sold out as it always does in previous years. ( take note of your time zone)
Please note: points takes 10 days to ship to your Loyalty account and use any American address when filling out the billing. Email me if you require more clarity.
