Cairo

Cairo, the heart of Egypt.

Egypt is amazing. Not only the sights and history / artefacts but also the economic value of the hotels and getting about to tour the land.

This was my 3rd visit to Cairo, but my 1st doing it the TraveLoyalty way. Egypt is a huge hub for category 1 Hilton hotels effectively costing only 5000 HHonors points per night. I can show how to earn 5000 points easily off a one night stay, currently there’s a 5000 bonus points per stay offer ( this is where you can seriously milk it or string up a line of free night stays as you utilising points and earning points – have a look HERE) or you can effectively buy the HHonors points for $20 when there is a 100% bonus sale.

For the 5000 points ($20) Hilton upgrades rooms, gives breakfast, high tea and hot snacks for Gold and Diamond Hhonors members. No hotel chain can match this.

The hotel.

I chose Hilton Pyramids Golf resort primarily based on the 5000 points per night redemption offer and it was slightly out of the city centre.

I didn't get the presidential suite but I did get this one valued at $310 per night. Not bad.

Breaking down the maths.

Why pay R3800 per night, when you can pay R245 per night with all the meals utilising the TraveLoyalty way.

( As 5th night is free this works out to R19,000 cash vs R 981 utilising ‘bought points’. Offcourse if you have points earned, your 5 night stay is totally free by utilising just 20,000 HHonors points).

The complimentary upgrade.

Not sure how I won this “guest of the day” because I checked in so late that the executive lounge was closed, I really wanted to see what they had and to take footage for my trip report so I called to enquire if they could perhaps organise me anything being a HHonors Diamond member the next thing this platter arrived at my room:
