Intercontinental Mauritius.
This top tier brand of IHG sits in the North West of the island just above the capital, Port Louis. Being a top brand the points per night is really low at 30,000. I opted for the cash rate which would net me a chunk of points due to the Accelerate and OTA promotions which IHG currently has on going.

This trip ( like most others) was a last minute decision, so I only got around to emailing the hotel using the tips from my Ultimate Guide to UPgrades ( read article HERE) once I landed at the Airport in Mauritius and wow, what a fabulous job of the new Airport they’ve done since my last trip to the island.

This pad is HUGE and the value even at direct rates is still well priced compared to other international properties with this size and space.
Upon check in, guests receives a folder with a welcome letter, room card key, towel card, a folder, a map and concierge management details.
The Presidential Suite.
Each unit has a Presidential Suite in the middle, there are many units so upgrades here have been common with TraveLoyalty elite subscribers.
Upon entering, one is greeted with a seating area, a closet and a guest bathroom.
The next door adjacent to the stairs is the kitchen. I spent a good few minutes looking for the mini bar all over. Upstairs and downstairs in every cupboard, before realising there isn’t one.

The terrace off the walk in closet has a Jacuzzi with colour lights and 2 deck chairs. Pretty neat to relax and star gaze. Definitely.
