Abu Dhabi
Why Yas Island ?
The bulk of famous major tourist attractions lie on Yas Island. Yas Waterworld, Ferrari World, Yas Mall and the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit are within walking distance.
Yas Island is also a impressive hub for branded hotels to mattress run ( score quick points by swopping often).
Most of the hotels lie on the Golf course, Yas Links, all offer spectacular views.
The island is close to the airport, no more than 10minutes shuttle from terminal to hotel lobby. Exiting the airport terminal you will be greeted by a string of black Mercedes Benz Vianos ( why doesn’t every country offer these as standard), so if you in a big contingent, travel needs are sorted in one conveyance. Price isn’t bad too 15 – 25aed one way.
Why Radisson ?
They the cheapest. You have to have the Club Carlson Gold Elite loyalty card to score this rates.
Club Carlson has 2 properties across one another, I was hoping too stay at the Park Inn brand on my next visit but strangely this time RadissonBlu is cheaper than the Park Inn brand even though the latter is a lower category hotel.
To score the excellent rates you have to plan your trip over a “Middle East” weekend as the rates are valid for buy 1 get 1 free or buy 2 get 2 free in Europe, Middle East and Africa over weekends only. So max is 4 days. If you have a longer booking hop across the road to Crowne Plaza or Staybridge Suites for the next 3 nights and back to Radisson for another low priced 4 nights.
The booking.
The card to have with 35 nights to attain. Send a mail for more info.
The upgrade.
Over a 4 night stay paying cash normal way will cost R6840, I paid R2068. That’s a saving of R4770 in a world class hotel in a world class destination.
Alternative ways to book utilising points.
The weekend offer is lower than points + cash option. Just follow TraveLoyalty’s newsletter and see the promotions how to stack up Club Carlson points, There is currently a 2000 bonus point offer per night.
The room.
The view.
The breakfast.
I loved the farm like theme and the endless supply of shelled pistachios, almonds and salmon. Sweet fresh orange juice is something I can never seem to have enough of.
Some sightseeing.
Yas Island, Abu Dhabi is worth a repeated trip.
