1) The booking.
Have you ever heard of complimentary R160,000 + in upgraded value over 5 nights?
The Upgrade.
Read my Ultimate guide to upgrades.
The Suite.
I love HHonors for this repeated reasons. This upgrade is TraveLoyalty’s new benchmark after Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaima and Kandooma Maldives.
The bathroom.
The rest of the suite.
The reception and lobby.
The complimentary Executive Lounge breakfast.
Breakfast time before I checked in while my suite was being made ready.
The views off the lounge.
The complimentary High Tea in the lounge.
The complimentary breakfast downstairs.
The Kids Club.
The complimentary evening snacks (some).
The pool side.
When the mercury’s near 50, sunglasses, specs and camera lenses do weird things.
I’ve mentioned exactly how hot this sea water is in my previous Atlantis trip, check it out.
After check-out.
I got 20,000 HHonors points from my stay even though I booked points + cash rate, due to Waldorf Astoria / Conrad promotions. ( Check TraveLoyalty’s Hotels-Hilton tab for it). That’s basically 4 free nights at a Catergory1 Hilton hotel.
2) Up next: The most outrageous, phenomenal and biggest hotel room in the world.
Welcome to The Royal Suite of The Waldorf Astoria, The Palm, Dubai.
This is where famous monarchs, certain presidents of countries and perhaps a few of the top A – list celebrities book into.
The suite spans double volume ( maybe triple) and over 1500 square meters in size. It also retails for 70,000 AED ( ZAR 260,000 per night). The concierge manager assigned to my stay at the Waldorf Astoria really treated me to a unforgettable trip including which was a full tour of this palace like Royal Suite. For other short vid clips of this hotel check my Instagram.
The private entrance in the foyer leads to a private elevator all set in shiny silver and gold.
Upon entering, one is greeted by a reception desk and the first of many seating areas.
This leads on to a huge seating lounge.
Walking in further lies a dining room on one side with a lounge on the other side. A staircase leads to a piano in the middle.
Directly next to that is yet another lounge / seating area with a 105 inch screen.
Next lies a passage way leading to two dressing rooms and two bedrooms.
Guest Room.
Master Bedroom.
The office / gym is the final room.
You can email and ask the amount of Hilton HHonors points to secure a free night here, I’m not too sure if they give 5th night free as an elite perk.
On the flip side can you imagine Queen Elizabeth clocking the points here on a triple points promotion blended with 50% bonus as an HHonors Diamond Elite. I wonder what’s the biggest score of points received from a single stay ?
