2) Hilton Category Changes. 12 October 2016.

Turkey seems to become a hub to stretch points further as many hotels are dropping many categories down to category 1 ( only needing 5000 HHonor points per night). Imagine how low trips re going to cost to tour Egypt via Turkey or vice versa with this.

You can buy a solid 160,0000 HHonors points on a 100% bonus sale for $800. This 800$ can get you 40x nights at a category 1 Hilton ( as Elites get every 5th night free making it 4000 points per night effectively + free breakfast and lounge access for Diamonds). Egypt is another gem of many category 1 hotels throughout. Off coarse at a Diamond elite level your stays generate almost as much points with bonuses rather than purchasing.

If you don’t have elite membership but you have points make sure you check what the breakfast charges are before booking as this per person charge can be more expensive than booking the actual night cash.

If you have points bookings at hotels with the higher rate, cancel and re-book after the 12 Oct.
